The aim of the DNA of Tolerance project is to promote the social inclusion of young people from ethnic minorities or disadvantaged backgrounds by using artistic communication as a universal language. This approach seeks to overcome barriers related to race, language and values, using art as a tool to express and share identities, enrich local and European culture, and foster tolerance. The project also provides cultural support to youth educators and local communities, facilitating practical and accessible methodologies to work with young people from an intercultural and inclusive perspective.
Among the activities implemented are the research of effective forms of artistic and creative communication, the exchange of good practices and the training of youth educators in innovative methodologies to develop activity plans that promote inclusion. In addition, a Training Kit was created that includes strategies to introduce youth to their local communities through artistic events, such as the Flashmob methodology.
The results of the project include the implementation of educational materials in 43 international organisations, indirectly impacting 344 people through the trained educators. 50 educators were trained as multipliers, of which 94.7% achieved the expected results and learned new methodological tools.
More than 80% of participants acquired skills to create new activity plans, and 76% demonstrated practical skills to organize events and manage conflicts between young people. These achievements strengthen the capacities of educators and communities, fostering positive change towards inclusion and tolerance.
