The GENQUEST project aims to train young people through challenge-based learning, promoting the development of essential soft skills for employment.

GENQUEST has developed an innovative challenge-based learning approach using the WebQuest methodology, creating educational resources that cover “the Big Five Domains” of soft skills defined by the OECD. This approach focuses on strengthening key competencies in task performance, emotional regulation, collaboration, open-mindedness, and engagement with others, offering young people the opportunity to develop essential employability skills. The designed challenges address globally relevant topics while also being adaptable to specific local contexts.

As part of the project, 50 WebQuest challenges have been created, structured at introductory and advanced levels. Each challenge includes processes designed to foster transversal skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, digital literacy, and lifelong learning. This collection of resources serves as a comprehensive tool to enhance Generation Z students’ readiness for today’s job market.

In addition, GENQUEST has developed an in-service training program for youth workers, equipping them with the skills needed to implement WebQuest resources and design new educational experiences within their practices. The program includes a learner’s manual created by the consortium partners, providing content and strategies to ensure youth workers successfully integrate this methodology into their daily work.

These initiatives have strengthened key competencies in over 13 participating organizations, benefiting hundreds of young people and youth workers by preparing them to face current job market challenges while adapting to specific local needs.
