The Greenwashing = Brainwashing project aims to strengthen the capacities of youth organizations to implement sustainable activities and reduce their ecological footprint, while creating an international network for the green transformation of youth work. The main goal of the project is to raise awareness about the concept of greenwashing, improve understanding of ecological manipulation strategies, and promote a constructive and ethical response to misleading environmental advertising.
The project combines innovative educational activities with the development of digital tools, such as a Green Manual for implementing climate-neutral activities and a web calculator to measure ecological footprints. These tools help transform organizational practices and enhance the quality of youth work in the context of sustainable development. Additionally, the project promotes a Green Declaration signed by 45 European organizations, marking a collective commitment to sustainability and environmental transparency.
Key outcomes of the project include the implementation of the Green Manual and a web calculator for measuring ecological footprints, which were used in climate-neutral activities by youth organizations across several European countries. Over 45 organizations signed the Green Declaration, signaling their commitment to sustainable transformation and reducing environmental impact. The project trained young people and youth workers in sustainable practices and identifying greenwashing, reaching hundreds through local activities, study visits, and international conferences. These efforts strengthen international collaboration, raise environmental awareness, and empower young people to lead sustainable changes in their communities.
