MENTOR UP

Programme - Erasmus+ KA2

Reference : 2020-2-ES02-KA205-015305

Project Dates: 01/10/2020 - 30/09/2022

The Mentor Up project aims to improve the mentoring service within the framework of European Solidarity Corps (ESC) projects, strengthening the skills of those in charge of accompanying European volunteers. The project focuses on creating a clear training structure, defining the profile of the mentor and establishing basic standards that allow for quality mentoring, promoting international cooperation between participating organisations.

As part of the project, three main materials were developed: the Competence Deficit Report, which identifies the training needs of mentors; the Mentor Up Manual, a practical guide with tools and resources structured in eight key thematic areas for mentor training; and an online learning platform, which provides accessible training and self-assessments for youth professionals and all those who want to be future mentors.

The project managed to consolidate a network of knowledge and skills between the participating organisations and their communities thanks to the activities carried out. Key events include the training in Macedonia, where the materials were tested by mentors and youth professionals, consolidating their applicability, and the final conference of the project in Quart de Poblet. This international event, organised by Backslash in collaboration with the City Council of Quart, brought together more than 100 people to present the results of the project, discuss the role of mentoring in social change and share volunteering experiences, successfully closing two years of international work and collaboration.
